Our library was established on the base
of the former Regional Children's Library (1962-1976). You will find
us rather easily in the very Centre of Taurage in the area of the
castle which is situated together with Pupils' Art Centre and Regional
Museum "Santaka". The grounds of the castle are loved and
visited, and in its yard we often have feasts for children and the
youth.
In the spacious rooms of the library
beginners and advanced readers are served separately.
There is as well a reading room arranged
for older readers. There are more than 16 000 different books and
magazines at your choise. We receive 1200 new readers every year and
we are visited by 12000 visitors.
If you want to become our
reader, you just have to buy a reader's ticket which price is 1 Lt.
per year.

he theatre in our library was established in 1991. The artist Dalia
Muleviciene made puppies for the theatre, staged some fairy- tales
which were played by school children. Since 1993 the staff of
the library dramatizes fairy- tales and plays in them.
Every year in April, on the occasion of the
children books Day's , the kids are invited to a new
performance of the theatre. The visitors of the theatre have
already seen the following fairy- tales: "Red litlle
Ridding Hood", Hut "Three Hare's Pigs",
" Golden Apple Tree " and some others.
The latest perfomance of our theatre was
H.K . Anderson's fairy-tale ' Show Queen" and the
Lithuanian fairy-tale " No witch's Estate".
Annualy about 600 children come to the
library and watch the performances. They are not only the kids from
our town's primary schools with their teachers or kids from the
Orphens' Home, or Day Centre's kids, but the school Children
from the country, Kaliningrad Area's Lithuanian kids.
At the entrence of our Theatre you
will be met by the very main character of pur theatre Tom Cat in
Shoes, who with the help of other puppies will introduce all the
library , to you, show the rewest and most grapping books will
announce contests and competitions.
